Abstract: The article focuses on the claim made by Martyn Dell of the National Health Service (NHS) Workforce Review team, that health services across the globe are struggling with workforce planning. The Workforce Review team commissioned the Institute for Employment Research at Warwick University to carry out the study following heavy criticism of workforce planning in the NHS by the Health Select Committee in 2007.
